In 1981, Mr. Saffet Arslan the founder and the chairman of Ipek began to work in 15 sq-meters workplace as an upholstery master in Kayseri.
Few years later, he got necessary qualifications to prepare complete sofas with its whole parts including raw materials and supply them to the showrooms. In those years, although automation system was applied in large scaled factories, Saffet Arslan leaded to initiate a serial and planed production that can be considered as a beginning of automation in Anatolia.
In 1989, Saffet Arslan opened his first showroom and began to sell his products all over the Turkey with the delivery system that he found. Early in 1991, he comprehended the importance of the specialisation in furniture sector. He identified the products which can be produced serially and then he took partners whom have experience about manufacturing and IPEK was officially established. Today IPEK offers services with over 300 various types of products on a landscape of 115,000 sqmeters with a total covered area of 85,000 sq-meters. It has about 1000 employees; IPEK has already formed its forward looking works in the furniture sector.
